Today I’ll welcome eating less.

Yesterday was Thanksgiving. For having a casual, laid back day, we sure did eat make a lot of food. Stuffing, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole, rolls, and washed it down with sparkling cider. I almost forgot the home made cranberry sauce.

It was a nice, relaxing day.

Kaleb and Jaidyn were here, and Sienna got back from McCall early afternoon. We all went on a short walk at the lake, and most everyone worked on making a different dish for the dinner. (I helped set the table and then cleaned up after.)

we thought about going to see the movie “Wicked”, but most of us were pretty tired by the evening, and Kelsee and Landon were supposed to show up around 8pm, so we skipped that.

After Kelsee and Landon arrived we played Jackbox games for quite a while. They told us all about their engagement. It was fun to hear them talk about it. They make a good couple. There are so many challenges in the world that serve to set people apart from one another. I hope they may both have the means to stay close to one another, and support each other in this crazy period of mortality.

Yesterday was also the first time I’ve noticed Jaidyn’s baby bump. she mentioned how she can now feel the baby moving, and it sounds like they have settled on the name Grace. It has become more real that we are going to be grand parents. It’s odd that I never felt a sense of anxiety about Jenn’s pregnancies, at least as far as I can remember, but I feel some with Jaidyn’s. Life feels more fragile to me now. I wonder if that is common to most human beings as they get older, or if it’s more particular to our circumstances.

I don’t find myself dwelling on Jenn’s cancer often, but occasionally it comes to mind. Yesterday I caught myself thinking about it, and wondering if she’ll have all the time she wants with grand kids, or if that wonderful time will be cut short. There is not one day guaranteed us, and it is best to live every day as our best one.

Ether 14 talks about several people that line up to fight against Coriautamr. They rise to power through secret combinations. It’s a reminder of the monotony of contention. People who thrive off of drama go around in continuous circles of discontent.
